Persuasive Speech - Research Plan
As you begin your research, consider following this plan:
1. If you are still brainstorming topics, use the Points of View database and click on view all topics to get ideas
2.Once you get your topic approved, use the card catalogue to see if we have any print resources. If we do, locate them or ask for help in locating them. If you find some from other schools, you can place a hold on them.
3. If we do not have any print resources, consider requesting books on your topic using the book request form (located under the books menu). I might not be able to buy them for your research topic given the time constraints, but future students will benefit from your request!
4. Go to the Points of View database and search for your topic. Consider searching for synonyms to get different results. If you find an article you like, remember to get the citation by clicking on print!
5. If you don't find anything on the Points of View database, look at Opposing Viewpoints through MEL or the Troy Public Library (under eResources, children and teens).
6. If you don't find what you are looking for, ask for help!
